ICE out Christmas Caroling

Join us for a fun afternoon of singing Christmas Carols on Church Street in Burlington on December 20, 2025 from noon to 2pm. We will gather at the Christmas Tree at the top of Church Street (Church and Pearl) and go up and down the marketplace signing carols. We will provide lyrics to traditional songs and have a portable sound system to play backup. Here is a sampling:

Sung to the tune of “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” -

Grandma hiding by the closet door

Grandpa huddled on the floor

Baby’s cries being hushed under clothes

Outside men dressed up like GI Joes

Everybody knows ICE agents in their unmarked cars

Help spread fear throughout the night

Moms and dads holding children tight

Trying hard to stay completely out of sight

They know that ICE is on its way

They’ve loaded lots of clubs and zip ties on their sleigh

And every mother’s child is gonna spy

To see if unmarked cars are really coming by

And so I’m offering this simple phrase

To kids from 1 to 92

Although it’s been said many times many ways

ICE agents will be coming for you.

The Twelve Days of IceMas

On the first day of Christmas

ICE agents brought to us

arrests without due process

On the second day of Christmas

ICE agents brought to us

Masks to hide their faces

Third……unjust use of force

Fourth……Zip-tying children

Fifth……pepper spray

Sixth……illegal searches

Seventh……racial profiling

Eighth…..deportation

Ninth…..foreign prisons

Tenth…….social media spying

Eleventh……kidnapping innocents

Twelfth…….spreading fear

Up on the Rooftop

Up on the housetop agents land

Out jumps ICE with cuffs in hand

Down through the chimney with masks on face

Carrying pepper spray just in case

Ho, ho, ho who wouldn’t go

Ho, ho, ho who wouldn’t go

Upfront payment of $50 grand

To arrest and imprison in a foreign land

You better watch out (for ICE)

You better watch out

You better not share

You better not doubt

How much do you dare?

ICE surveillance is coming to town

They see you when you’re posting

They hear you when you talk

They know if you hate trump or not

So be careful how you mock

You better watch out

You better not share

You better not doubt

How much do you dare?

ICE surveillance is coming to town

They know when you are sleeping

They know when you’re awake

They know if you are left or right

So just know what all’s at stake

You better watch out

You better not share

You better not doubt

How much do you dare?

ICE surveillance is coming to town

Rudolfo the Red Nose Reno

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,

Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen.

But do you recall,

The most famous reno of all?

Rodolfo, the red-nosed reno

Had a nariz muy rojo.

And if you ever saw it,

You would even say brillo.

All of the other reno

Used to laugh and call him names.

They never let poor Rodolfo

Play in American games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,

Santa came to say,

"Rodolfo with your nariz so bright,

Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then how the reno loved him

As they shouted out with glee,

"Rodolfo the red-nosed reno,

You'll go down in history!"

To the tune of Jingle Bells

Crashing through the gate

Eyes all filled with hate

Billy clubs in hand

All throughout the land

Pepper spray in air

Spraying without care

Choking all in sight

It’s a big ICE raid tonight

They grabbed mom

They grabbed dad

Little Maria, too

In the school,

In the church and

In the courthouse queue.

Jingle Chains

Jingle Chains

Jingle all the way

Oh the tears shed on the ride

in a one way jet airplane.

To the tune of Jingle Bells

Crashing through the gate

Eyes all filled with hate

Billy clubs in hand

All throughout the land

Pepper spray in air

Spraying without care

Choking all in sight

It’s a big ICE raid tonight

They grabbed mom

They grabbed dad

Little Maria, too

In the school,

In the church and

In the courthouse queue.
